These birds look fierce with their piercing yellowish eyes and long, curved beak as they hop around purposefully on their big feet. The curve-billed thrasher is truly a desert bird and doesn't migrate away from the Southwest. They also have a winsome quality that I find endearing. A few months ago I watched one sit on top of a bush, narrow its eyes to slits and lean over 45 degrees to take in the warmth of the weak winter sun. It straightened back up and did it over and over again.
This is an original graphite, chalk and gouache 7"x9" drawing on hand-toned paper (not a print), matted to an 8" x 10" outside dimension. The soft white 100% cotton mat is museum quality and archival. The drawing is otherwise sent to you unframed.
I'll be giving 50% of the proceeds of this sale to a bird and/or wildlife conservation group.
